Embrace the Emotion
Some Mondays you wake up and the week feels lost before it’s begun.
You’re not sad about anything specific. You’re not angry at anyone in particular. You’re just… heavy. Agitated. Stuck. Off-focus. Convinced the next five days are going to be a wash.
And somewhere inside, you know there’s a wiser voice. The one that says “one day at a time. let the feeling pass. you don’t have to solve it today.” You’ve heard her before. You’ve even been her, on better days.
But on heavy Mondays, she’s behind a door you can’t quite find.
Here’s what I’m learning: the work isn’t to become her on command. The work is just to reach for her. To know she’s in there. To rattle the handle gently and trust that even rattling counts.
If today feels like that — you’re not behind. You’re not failing. You’re just having a Monday that needs reaching, not solving.
One day at a time, solos. Sometimes one hour. Sometimes one cup of coffee. That’s allowed to be enough. 🤍
